Top New Switch, PS4, Xbox One, And PC Games Releasing November 10-16, 2019

Romancing SaGa, Pokemon, Star Wars, and more.

This installment of New Releases is all about exploring new worlds, galaxies, and zones. You've got the new Britain-inspired Galar Region in Pokemon Sword & Shield, a whole galaxy far, far away in Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, plus the space-time continuum in Doctor Who: The Edge of Time. There's also a pair of remastered games for those who missed out the first time around (or don't speak Japanese): turn-based RPG Romancing SaGa 3 and grand strategy title Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition. There's a ton of stuff for sci-fi and fantasy fans!

Romancing SaGa 3 -- November 11

Available on: PS4, Xbox One, PC, Switch, Vita

Romancing SaGa 3 is releasing outside of Japan for the first time since its 1995 debut. This RPG has been gussied up with better graphics, an extra dungeon, more story content, and a New Game Plus mode. You can choose from one of eight protagonists and start saving the world on the original game's 24th birthday.

Doctor Who: The Edge of Time -- November 12

Available on: PS4, PC

No Caption Provided

While it is based on the super-popular BBC series, this VR game doesn't actually have you play as the Doctor herself. She's been kidnapped, so it's up to you, her companion, to rescue her. To do that, you'll have to pilot the TARDIS and confront classic Doctor Who bad guys like Daleks and Weeping Angels.

Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition -- November 14

Available on: PC

The PC strategy staple is back, sporting a lovely coat of 4K paint. This remaster also includes new content called "The Last Khans," which adds four new civilizations, bringing the total to a whopping 35. Couple that with three new campaigns, and you've got tons of possible war strategies to devise.

More Coverage:

Pokemon Sword & Shield -- November 15

Available on: Switch

No Caption Provided

By this point, you probably know what you're getting with a Pokemon game, but Sword & Shield are mixing things up. The new Galar Region has its own variants of classic Pokemon like Weezing and Ponyta, plus region-specific evolutions for Farfetch'd and Linoone. Sword & Shield also introduce new giant, kaiju-like monsters called Dynamax Pokemon, some of which can even change form, known as Gigantamax Pokemon.

Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order -- November 15

Available on: PS4, Xbox One, PC

No Caption Provided

It might sound cliche, but Fallen Order's combat really does feel like the Dark Souls games. In fact, if you die, you'll have to defeat the last enemy you fought to regain your lost XP, a la Bloodborne. It's pretty fitting that this original Star Wars story is challenging, since protagonist Cal Kestis is one of the few surviving Jedi Padawans after Order 66.

November has more video games to come. Next week, New Releases will take a look at the return of a cult classic with Shenmue 3 and the latest in tactical shooters with Sniper: Ghost Warrior Contracts.

The new feminist version of Dr. Who looks ridiculous. You guys sure gave it a lot of play time. Also, when will your reviews be anywhere near actual gamers' reviews?

Oh Saga 3 is great! I hope this is cross buy on PS4 and Vita! I have the Super Famicom cartridge and love this game!

I hope the star wars game is good.

Side note I have never used an ad blocker before but the popups on this site (and similar BS lately on other sites) will make me do it. This is just like the last time when browsers added popup blocking and other stuff, you guys are really pushing the users to fight back here. Knock it off.

May the Force be with Fallen Order.

It'll be the first EA game I've bought in years and it's only because it's Respawn doing it, and it's a single player experience, by all accounts, that we've been waiting for.

I'm really looking forward to playing this weekend.

No doubt Star Wars will be the big winner this upcoming week.

Personally, I’m rooting for Fallen Jedi as it is one of the few noteworthy AAA single player entries in the Star Wars franchise. Hopefully if it is a success (assuming it is worthy of that success.) it might send a message to the higher ups at EA.

With that said, I have a feeling I won’t be touching it for a while as I’m currently trudging along with Death Stranding. To say that it is a unique gaming experience is a huge understatement.

Truth be told I’m not sure if I love it or hate it right now. It’s so different. Its strengths are so amazing and blow away most conventional games but its weaknesses are so abundant and continuous that they really put a damper on fully embracing every part of it. Hopefully that feeling subsides once I get to the end but even if they don’t I think it’s fair to say that it will be a game I remember for a very long time.

-MAY THE FORCE BE WITH FALLEN JEDI NINJA APPROVED-
