Now Playing: New Releases - Top Games Out This Month - February

This week, New Releases takes a month-wide look at some of the biggest games launching in February. Leading the charge is a totally rebuilt Shadow of the Colossus on PS4, followed closely by the hack-and-slash action of Dynasty Warriors 9. Meanwhile, Bayonetta 1 and 2 are debuting on Nintendo Switch, while Metal Gear Survive looks to take the series in a very different direction.

[Note: This episode also includes Dissidia Final Fantasy NT. It releases on PS4 on January 30.]

The first Metal Gear game without Hideo Kojima at the wheel is very different from Snake's sneaking missions. This open-world survival game is all about scavenging for resources to build weapons and defenses. You can take the challenge solo or with friends in co-op.

I’m so excited for Shadow of the Colossus, but I highly recommend Bayonetta 2 to anyone who didn’t play it on Wii U. Game was an absolute masterpiece.

@Bread_or_Decide: Then be prepared to be deleted from people's friend lists.

@gotrekfabian: I doubt that will happen. If they are that petty then I don't want them on my friend list.

The only chance that Metal Gear Survive has is attracting the fanbase that love these kind of survival horror games. If it fails at that it will flop hardly.

@AdrianWrz: This episode looks at the month overall, but that game will 100% be in an episode 2 weeks from now during its actual release week. I'm very stoked for that one too!

Metal Gear Survive looks terrible. I'm probably going to get DW9 and then Shadow Of Colossus at a later date. Doesn't Kingdom Come: Deliverance and Secret Of Mana come out this month as well?

NO, metal gear survive is NOT one of the most anticipated games of the year... why are you guys making false claims and giving this game more attention than it deserves? that has to be one of the most ill informed statements i have seen from a gaming site in a very long time.

shadow of the colossus remake looks incredible. game of february easily.

Most of these games are $#!+. What about Kingdom Come: Deliverance? It releases on the 13th, but instead of talking about that, let's talk about the same ol' ports and sequels that are freshly painted versions of the previous releases we have already played several times on the last gen systems.

@vgdork: That game will actually be included two episodes from now. Most of these episodes take a weekly look at games, we just start each month with a wider scope.

Not trying to come off as negative or anything (-Yeah right, Ninja.-) but I wonder how many people will be checking out Metal Gear survive just out of sheer curiosity?; even those who are vehemently opposed to it.

-WILL IT SURVIVE? NINJA APPROVED-

@videogameninja: It seems that plenty checked out the beta claiming that they were "only because it's free". Most gamers have no moral compass when it comes to the issues which need addressing and seem to hide behind the 'noone will ever know' rather than sticking to their guns and boycotting games from corrupt, devious and greedy developers/publishers.

To paraphrase: despite their reservations, more will check it out than Konami deserve.
