No Caption Provided Sony's virtual marketplace grows this week with new digital additions ranging from a game based on the 1986 Tom Cruise film to the latest Ys action role-playing game.

Cleared for takeoff first this week is Doublesix Games' free-flying combat title Top Gun ($14.99). Based on the Top Gun film starring Tom Cruise, the title casts players as a fighter pilot zooming through 11 campaign missions. The developer aimed for authentic integrity not only by including the original Top Gun theme song, but also by calling upon the film's screenwriter Jack Epps Jr. to pen the game's script. In addition to its single-player mode, Top Gun features a 16-player online game type, where players can pilot through five competitive game modes.

Also hitting this week is the PSP action role-playing game Ys Seven ($29.99). The seventh iteration in the Ys series, the game released in Japan last year and the localized version hit today. From Japanese developer Nihon Falcom, the game casts players as Adol Christin, a brave adventurer. Using melee and elemental powers, players will fight monsters and battle bosses, ultimately attempting to thwart nefarious powers and save the day.

For those looking to get more out of their existing games, Sony added new content for Naughty Dog's Uncharted 2: Among Thieves today. The game's Sidekick Skins Pack ($2.99) is now available to download and includes eight new character skins for use in the game's multiplayer component.

Sony added three samplers this week, the first of which is for EA Sports' NHL 11. The demo gives players a look and feel for the game's new physics engine, said to create more realistic scenarios in the hockey simulator.

For the thrill-seeking gamer, Sony dropped a demo for Hello Games' well-received death-defying thrill-ride game, Joe Danger. The PS3-exclusive released in early June and its demo lets players try out the game's ludicrous stunts.

The last demo hitting the PlayStation Store this week is for Tom Clancy's high-flying combat sequel, H.A.W.X. 2. The trial casts players as a superelite pilot, flying the most technologically advanced and deadly air machines available.

On the Minis side of things, Sony added just one miniscule title to the catalog today. Carnivores: Dinosaur Hunter ($3.99) is a prehistoric tracking game that casts players as a dino hunter seeking out the ancient prey.

Living room rock gods and goddesses this week can look forward to new content for Rock Band and Guitar Hero. Activision's music game welcomes a three-pack from alt-rockers Weezer, and Rock Band sees songs from The Black Keyes and Neon Trees added to its extensive library of tunes.

A full list of the week's deals and new PlayStation Store content, including themes, wallpapers, demos, discounts, and add-on content, is available on the PlayStation Blog.
