With an entire industry focused on one event last week--E3 2018, of course--new releases have been slow. There are no new games in the top 40 physical games this week, according to sales monitor GfK Chart-Track, as PS4's God of War returns to the chart's summit.

Below Sony's blockbuster, World Cup fever hits the country with FIFA 18 taking the No.2 spot for the second week in a row. Fallout 4 finishes at No.3 as a beneficiary of Sony's Days of Play sale and attention on the series due to the recent reveal of Fallout 76. Detroit: Become Human (No.4) and PlayStation VR Worlds (No.5) make it a total of three Sony-published games in the top five for the week ending June 16.

Last week's No.1, Vampyr, slips to No.8 this week, while Assassin's Creed Origins (No.9) and Call of Duty: WWII (No.10) also benefit from the Days of Play promotion.

We enjoyed Kratos's latest adventure here at GameSpot. "In many ways God of War is what the series has always been," wrote critic Peter Brown. "It's a spectacular action game with epic set pieces, big-budget production values, and hard-hitting combat that grows more feverish and impressive as you progress. What may surprise you is how mature its storytelling has become. Like Kratos, God of War recalls the past while acknowledging the need to improve. Everything new it does is for the better, and everything it holds onto benefits as a result. Kratos is no longer a predictable brute. God of War is no longer an old-fashioned action series. With this reboot, it confidently walks a new path that will hopefully lead to more exciting adventures to come." For more, check out our full God of War review.
