Tony Hawk's Underground out now

Activision announces that its latest skateboarding game has shipped to stores across North America.

Activision has today announced the North American release of Tony Hawk's Underground for the Game Boy Advance and all current generation consoles. The game marks something of a departure for the long-running Tony Hawk's series in that players will be skating as themselves rather than assuming the role of professionals. The game also allows players to create their own tricks, parks, level goals, and decks.

"An original, plot-driven story spurs players to use all their skills and wiles to achieve fame and recognition on their way to becoming a skateboarding pro," said Larry Goldberg, executive vice president, Activision Worldwide Studios. "In the new story mode, instead of skating as Tony Hawk or a pro skater, gamers skate alongside their heroes as a peer--eventually recruiting the pros to ride on their team."
