Paramount Entertainment has announced that it will create a new amusement ride based on the recently released feature film Lara Croft: Tomb Raider. The ride will open in 2002 at Paramount's Kings Island near Cincinnati. The Tomb Raider ride will borrow specific elements from the film, including actual props such as the six-armed Brahma statue and the stone monkeys from the Cambodian tomb-raiding scene in the film. The ride will take patrons through replicas of an ancient temple, inside ice caves, and down near a pit of boiling lava.

"Part of the thrill of the Tomb Raider property is the mystery and intrigue that surrounds each adventure," explained Tim Fisher, executive vice president and general manager of Paramount's Kings Island. "We want to preserve this mystery with the Tomb Raider ride until the first group of adventurers braves it in 2002--so, we aren't going to disclose all of the surprises in store for riders.''

The Tomb Raider film is currently in theaters. For more on the movie and related Tomb Raider games, visit our Tomb Raider Supersite.
