Writer Rhianna Pratchett, who wrote for the 2013 Tomb Raider reboot and its 2015 sequel, Rise of the Tomb Raider, is no longer working on the franchise.

Developer Crystal Dynamics made the announcement today on its Tumblr page.

"Crystal Dynamics and Rhianna Pratchett are announcing today that Rhianna is off to pursue new adventures separate from the Tomb Raider franchise," reads a line from the statement. "Rhianna was instrumental in helping us find Lara's voice in the 2013 origin story, and through Rise of the Tomb Raider she shaped Lara into the evolving heroine we know today."

"The entire team thanks Rhianna for her dedication and tireless efforts on the games. Please join us in wishing Rhianna the absolute best in her next adventure."

Pratchett sounded off on the news today across a series of tweets.

No new Tomb Raider games have been announced. However, a sequel to Rise of the Tomb Raider is expected, given that the story that began with the 2013 reboot has been described as a trilogy.

The name of the rumored third game is Shadow of the Tomb Raider.

Pratchett also wrote for Mirror's Edge, Overlord, and Heavenly Sword.
