Tomb Raider: Legend getting GameCubed
Eidos confirms Lara Croft is coming to Nintendo's current-generation console this fall.
With Tomb Raider: Legend coming to the Xbox 360, speculation was rife that the game might be ported to another next-generation console. While that may still happen, it has now been confirmed that Lara Croft's latest adventure will be coming to another current-generation console.
Today, Eidos reps confirmed to GameSpot that it is readying a version of Tomb Raider: Legend for the GameCube. When the game is released this fall, it will mark the series' debut on the GameCube--or any Nintendo console for that matter. It will, however, be the fourth Tomb Raider game for a Nintendo platform, after Tomb Raider: The Prophecy (Game Boy Advance, 2002), Tomb Raider: Curse of the Sword (Game Boy Color, 2001), and Tomb Raider (Game Boy Color, 2000).
Having gone gold last week, Tomb Raider: Legend is set for release on April 11, for the PC, Xbox, Xbox 360, and PlayStation 2. The next-gen edition will sell for $59.99, the current-gen console versions for $49.99, and the PC edition for $39.99. A PlayStation Portable version of the game is due later in the year.
