Actor Tom Holland auditioned for a role in Star Wars, but it didn't work out because he simply could not stop laughing during his tryout as he acted alongside a woman pretending to be a robot.

Speaking to Backstage, Holland said he has "quite a few" audition horror stories, including ones where he read the wrong lines. But for his Star Wars audition, Holland said he had advanced through multiple stages of auditions for John Boyega's role, Finn. The Spider-Man actor was reading lines next to a human who was portraying a robot, and Holland just couldn't keep it together, and as such, he didn't get the part.

"I remember my audition for Star Wars, I was like four or five auditions in, and I think I was auditioning for John Boyega's role. I remember doing this scene with this lady, bless her, and she was just a drone," he said. "So I was doing all of this, like, 'We gotta get back to the ship!' And she was going, 'Bleep, bloop bloop, bleep bloop.' I just couldn't stop laughing. I found it so funny."

Holland said he felt "really bad" about this because the woman was doing her best to play a convincing robot. "Yeah, I obviously didn't get the part. That wasn't my best moment," he said.

Holland next's movie is the action-thriller Cherry, in which he plays a former soldier who is addicted to pain pills. He is also set to star alongside Daisy Ridley in the sci-fi movie Chaos Walking. Both films arrive in March. Additionally, Holland is currently filming the next Spider-Man movie, while he's set to appear as Nathan Drake in the 2022 Uncharted movie.
