Ubi Soft has announced the forthcoming release of a new mission pack for Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon , the squad-based first-person shooter released in November last year.
Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Island Thunder, which follows in the footsteps of the Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon expansion pack released earlier this year, is set in the year 2009 and will see players enjoying a tour of duty on the island of Cuba. The post-Castro storyline sees the island enjoying its first free elections in decades, until they're thrown into turmoil by a drug-funded warlord. Players will have to lead their elite team of US Army Green Berets, as part of a larger UN peacekeeping force, in an all-new campaign that will take place in locations all over the island as they attempt to secure the elections by eliminating the rebel forces and their mercenary leaders.
The Island Thunder campaign will consist of eight new single-player missions, and the expansion pack will also include a number of new multiplayer features. In addition to five brand-new multiplayer maps, the pack will add new Cuban and Allied vehicles, 12 new weapons including the M4 SOCOM rifle and MM-1 automatic grenade launcher, and two new multiplayer game types, the details of which have not been released at this time.
The Ghost Recon: Island Thunder expansion pack is scheduled for release in November. We'll bring you more information on the game as soon as it becomes available.
