Tokyo Game Show organiser Computer Entertainment Supplier's Association (CESA) has revealed that this year's show broke attendance records.

According to CESA, TGS 2012 attracted a total number of 223,753 visitors, which is around 1,085 more visitors than last year. (For comparison, TGS 2011 recorded 222,668 people; TGS 2009 and 2010 attracted 185,030 and 207,647 visitors, respectively.)

CESA said that that 209 companies from 19 different countries exhibited at this year's TGS, with the focus of this year's show geared more towards mobile and social gaming, compared to console and PC. CESA also touted its Asia game business summit, in which key speakers from the Chinese, South Korean, Indonesian, and Japanese gaming industry discussed the future of the games market in the region, as well as the inclusion of eight new companies from Asia, including Indonesia, Iran, Malaysia, and Vietnam.

Next year's Tokyo Game Show has been scheduled for September 19-22, 2013 at Makuhari Messe, just outside Tokyo.
