Titanic Sails Again

When GTE Entertainment folded in March, Cyberflix's Titanic was left high and dry. It has now resurfaced.

CyberFlix has teamed up with CUC Software to publish the game Titanic: Adventure Out of Time. First released late last year, the title was distributed by GTE Entertainment - a company that became one of the first game industry casualties of 1997. Since then, the suspense-thriller graphic adventure has been available in stores, but not consistently. CyberFlix told GS that the game has often sold out. But when inventory ran out, many locations remained devoid of stock. During May, however, CUC Software plans to release a second pressing of the title in stores across the nation.

Titanic: Adventure Out of Time has sold approximately 100,000 units since its release. CyberFlix attributes this not only to gameplay, in which players play a British secret agent on the night the ship hits an iceberg, but also to the accuracy of the ship's digital re-creation.
