[UPDATE] Respawn has since confirmed that Titanfall might actually have a DLC season pass.

The original story is below.

Titanfall will not feature a season pass, developer Respawn Entertainment has confirmed. It also won't feature a split-screen mode. But it might just contain dinosaurs.

Many publishers have embraced the season pass mechanic as a way of selling a game's entire amount of DLC upfront at the launch of a title, with the tactic especially prevalent across shooters. EA has made Battlefield Premium a major part of Battlefield 3 and Battlefield 4, for instance.

Dinosaurs, however, are reported to crop up in the intro of The Art of Titanfall book. "Wall running ninjas? Check. Giant robots? Check. Warping spaceships? Check. Dinosaurs? Of course," reads a quote attributed to game director Steve Fukuda. The same book also features a whole bunch of monsters.

As for the prospect of Titanfall DLC, EA has said it's in the planning stages. "We're planning extra content already for the product," said EA CEO Andrew Wilson on Titanfall during the company's last financial report, "but in the nature of the live service, I think that, that will evolve over time as we see how the player base evolves through the year."

Titanfall will launch on Xbox One and PC on March 11. The Xbox 360 version will be released on March 25.
