Titanfall 2 Won't Launch Until At Least 2016

Here's when Titanfall 2 will arrive, at the very earliest.

As part of an earnings call today, Electronic Arts CFO Blake Jorgensen announced that Titanfall 2 is not going to be released anytime soon. Responding to an analyst's question, Jorgensen said you shouldn't expect to see Titanfall 2 until EA's fiscal year 2017.

No Caption Provided

That means Titanfall 2 is due to launch sometime between April 1, 2016 and March 31, 2017.

After lots of rumors, developer Respawn Entertainment co-founder Vince Zampella in March confirmed that Titanfall 2 was in development. The original game was released only for Xbox consoles and PC, but the sequel is expected to be a multiplatform title, Zampella said.

no surprise here, it takes studios about two years to get the cod games pumped out, that's why activation alternates studios every year.

@ngboy: But now they're on a slick new 3-year schedule that allows them to implement new features like.... ones their direct competitor (Titanfall) already featured. That's high class development right there!

@reddevilofhell: Don't be silly, it's modern warfare 4, in 2016, followed by advanced warfare 2 in 2017. Black Ops 4 won't be until 2018, silly billy. It horrible that I'm actually joking here, yet it will almost certainly be true

What am I looking forward to in TF2?

Campaign! This game could of had a great story line.

Better Graphics! TF1 on X1 compared to 360 was mediocre at best.

Something that keeps me entertained longer than a few weeks! that one explains itself lol.

@Romayo83: That was pretty much one of the biggest gripes about the original game. Single player was just not there. A compelling single player campaign would definitely pique my interests in the sequel. If it's more of the same, I won't bother. :/

@7tizz: While I do agree it was a good multiplayer shooter, you do realise why you loose all credibility the second you said that

@UltimateBastard@7tizz: When you see a guy sporting an Xbox One Avatar and talking about Playstation fans, or a guy sporting a PS4 Avatar and talking about Xbox fans, you already know it's going to be a rational statement with a lot of thought put into it.

Definitely not the kind of stuff you'd hear on a school playground, that's for sure.

@Too-DementeD@UltimateBastard@7tizz: While I was nearly willing to give him the benefit of the doubt, I had the misfortune of scrolling down and reading some of the other rhetoric he was spouting

Feels like yesterday. Titanfall pre-launch. System seller. Microsoft Fanboygasms. Exclusivity.

I wonder how it's going to differentiate itself from "Copy-Cat Black Ops 3, The Blackest Copy Ops Until A Blacker Ops Next Year"

@7tizz: Titanfall has dropped in price more than any AAA game around its release period (if not ever)...

South Park released the same month, cheapest its been (PC) has been 12$. Dark Souls 2 15$(on a Brazilian website, region free but still). Wolfenstein came out in May, 17.65$, SP only game.

Yet Titanfall has been at 5$. Yeah great argument you got there.

Sorry... That ship has sailed. I had fun with the first one, but the fun wore off fast. This game REALLY needed a campaign. Also, I was extremely irratated when I bought the season pass only for it to be given away for free a few months later.

I can just see it now. Give away the DLC on the 1 year anniversary as a show of good will, then 1 year later release Titanfall 2 and charge primium pricing for DLC again.

@Derekuda: Hence why you should not buy any of these games at launch. Wait a while.

@spartanx169x@Derekuda: completly agree, unless it's a f2p game I'd wait, a freshly new game is always full of major bugs and it has only minimal content, so I wait till price drops and in the meantime I'm sure they'll have added more stuff and a number of bugs will have been fixed by then (= at least I hope so haha
