Electronic Arts has not announced a briefing for Gamescom later this month, but one of the company's biggest upcoming games will be there. Developer Respawn has announced that Titanfall 2 will be shown off during the German event in the form of a live multiplayer match.

This will take place on August 16 and is called the Factions multiplayer event. As part of this, Respawn has recruited a number of gaming personalities to participate in multiplayer matches. The event kicks off at 11 AM PT / 2 PM ET on August 16 and will be streamed live through the Titanfall Twitch channel.

In a blog post, Respawn said this multiplayer event is a good primer for what players can expect from Titanfall 2's upcoming beta. More details on the beta will be announced "very soon," Respawn said.

In other news, Respawn recently talked about how Titanfall 2 is pushing things forward when it comes to matchmaking.

"We're changing a lot of our matchmaking systems so you can find better games quicker," producer Drew McCoy said. "We've added this awesome new thing called Networks that lets you make groups of friends and play together a lot easier."

Titanfall 2 is scheduled to launch on October 28 for PS4, Xbox One, and PC.

As for Gamescom, it runs August 17-21 in Cologne, Germany. Unlike previous years, there are no briefings scheduled from any platform-holders or publishers. Keep checking back with GameSpot for more on Gamescom in the days ahead.
