Immersion Corporation today announced a licensing agreement with Guillemot Corporation to bring its "TouchSense" Technology to a new line of gaming peripherals from Guillemot subsidiary Thrustmaster. This new line of products will include a force-feedback gamepad, a steering wheel, and a joystick. The Firestorm Game Pad, currently in the final stages of production, will be available by Christmas 2000. No specific release date was given for the Top Gun Afterburner joystick or 360 Modena Force Feedback Racing Wheel. All three peripherals will use the TouchSense Technology for sports, racing, and action games.

"Partnering with Thrustmaster, an established international leader in PC and console accessories, is a significant event for Immersion," said Ramon Alarcon, director of licensed consumer products for Immersion. "Thrustmaster's established position in the gaming industry, combined with Immersion's technology, will produce new standards for game controllers and heighten awareness about how touch can be added to devices to create a more realistic gaming experience."
