Three More Games Added to Xbox One Backwards Compatibility Program

A total of seven games have been added to the backwards compatibility program this week.

For the second time this week, Microsoft has added games to the Xbox One's backwards compatibility catalog. New additions for today, October 13, include Silent Hill: Downpour, Eat Lead: The Return of Matt Hazard, and Puzzle Quest: Challenge of the Warlords.

These were announced by Microsoft's Larry "Major Nelson" Hryb on Twitter.

If you already own any of these games on Xbox 360, they should show up automatically in your Xbox One game library. If not, you can buy them on your Xbox One or through the links below.

These three games follow the release of Jurassic Park: The Game, Battlestations: Midway, Dragon's Lair, and Tour de France 2011 into the backwards compatibility catalog earlier this week.

The Xbox One's backwards compatibility feature launched in November 2015 with the New Xbox One Experience update. Microsoft has added new titles on a regular basis since then--you can see all 250-plus games in the catalog here.

Since backwards compatibility launched, the response has been "overwhelming," Microsoft recently said. Users have collectively spent 145 million hours playing Xbox 360 games on Xbox One.

Just recently, Xbox boss Phil Spencer was asked if Call of Duty: Black Ops II--the single most-requested title on the Xbox Feedback site--would be added to the program. He did not confirm anything but said conversations are ongoing about adding more third-party games to the catalog.

Its very important that we get the Godfather backwards compatible, because the 360 was the best looking version, plus its a game you can play over and over again.

More crap! Thanks Xbox.

I sure don't want the other mass effect titles, splinter cel games, ghost recon, or any other AAA titles you can't even buy for the Xbox one.

Keep pumping out the garbage! All 17 people on this forum will be SO pumped.

it's not up to the xbone, they got to get the rights from the devs for backwards, some devs have said no because of remasters (bioshock and skyrim)

@xspartanx3x: I don't care about the remastered version. The game looked fine on 360 it didn't need it nor do I plan on rebuying it when I already have a copy.

Yes! I had Silent Hill Downpour for my PS3 and miss playing that game. I will pick it up tonight and give it another go this weekend.

Man, Puzzle Quest... Spent dozens of hours playing that and its expansion whilst, um, "vegging out." Made for a good controller-handoff sort of co-op.

Silent Hill: Downpour is pretty good for those who like horror games. I'd say its a about a 6.5/10. Its worth a play!

Silent hill downpour is super fun I beat it on the 360 but man the frame rate is all over the place in that game. Even just walking around makes the game stutter.

Not really interested in Eat Lead or Silent Hill but I already have Puzzle Quest so that's a plus. Keep 'em coming Microsoft.

Eat Lead: TRoMH is a flawed but entertaining gem of a game, thanks to some amazing voice acting courtesy of NPH and Arnett.

To anyone who hasn't played that should at least give it a go.

@shinrae5: Had no idea it existed until now.

Wish there was a demo.

@shinrae5: Didn't know those two did work for this game, I'll have to try it now.

@suicidesn0wman: yeah it didn't get a lot of attention due to some bland graphics and mediocre to serviceable range gun play. But for a cheap but silly fun run, the story and voice acting made it worth it for me
