This morning, THQ announced the release of its Game Boy Advance game, Star Wars: Episode II Attack of the Clones. Players will be able to assume the roles of Anakin Skywalker, Mace Windu, and Obi-Wan Kenobi in a plot that closely follows that of the latest Star Wars prequel. Players will also be able to control Republic gunships, speeders, and Jedi starfighters in space combat scenarios. Side-scrolling levels will focus on lightsaber combat against the likes of Jango Fett, Count Dooku, and other enemies from the Star Wars universe. The game's 11 levels will span such locations as Tatooine, Geonosis, and the streets of Coruscant.

"Star Wars is a global phenomenon that has been one of the most recognized franchises in the entertainment industry for 25 years," stated Alison Locke, executive vice president of North American publishing at THQ. "We are delighted to be partnering with LucasArts once again for the release of Star Wars: Episode II Attack of the Clones."

Star Wars: Episode II Attack of the Clones for the Game Boy Advance is now available in stores for a retail price of $29.99.
