There Was Almost a Harry Potter Movie Love Triangle

Fan fiction will surely imagine Viktor and Hermione living happily ever after.

The relationship between Viktor Krum and Hermione in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire never amounted to anything, but it could have, it's now been revealed.

Krum actor Stanislav Ianevski told Entertainment Weekly that Deathly Hallows director David Yates considered bringing Krum back for that movie to attend the wedding of Bill Weasley and Fleur Delacour. This would have created a love triangle between Krum, Hermione, and Run. Krum did not attend the wedding in the books, so this would have been an invented sequence. It wasn't meant to be.

"That was cut out of the film because it obviously didn't fit with all the horrible things that happen in the last book," Ianevski said.

They filmed a dance scene where Krum stole Hermione away from Ron at the wedding and reminded her of the times they had in Goblet of Fire.

"She remembered our old times, Viktor was acting like a gentleman again, happy to see her, she was happy to see him. Ron was sitting on the side, was jealous, and then Viktor took her to the dance floor," Ianevski said.

He added that tension between Ron and Viktor might have mounted from there. Ianevski jokingly imagined that Viktor and Hermione could have ended up together, living happily ever after.

As for how close Viktor and Hermione actually got during the Yule Ball, Ianevski teased that it's "their little secret."

"It was obviously difficult for them to understand each other… He wouldn't really understand much. He would just sit and watch her, sort of observe and protect. Maybe he was, being the world's best Quidditch Seeker obviously he has a big ego, so he would defend loved ones."

No new Harry Potter movies have been announced, but the spinoff Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them comes to theaters later this month.
