The Xbox One Elite controller released last year, alongside Halo 5: Guardians on October 27. Now, only eight months later, Xbox head Phil Spencer has posted a picture on Twitter of the millionth Elite controller.

"Great milestone, our one millionth Xbox Elite controller," Spencer tweeted. "Thanks to all who have supported."

The Xbox One Elite controller sold incredibly well with stores running out of stock quickly. Its sales exceeded Microsoft's plans, and controller shortages were expected throughout the first quarter of 2016.

A new Gears of War-themed version of the customizable controller was announced at E3. It comes with in-game items for Gears of War 4, features a D-pad with weapon icons, and costs $200.

The Xbox One Elite controller offers multiple different customization options to turn it into a controller that fits many different needs. The D-pad and analog sticks can be replaced entirely, while back paddles can be attached to take the place of buttons. You can see if GameSpot thinks it's worth the $150 here.
