The Xbox Store's New Sale Discounts Hundreds Of Japanese-Developed Games

Golden Week is a time of celebration in Japan, with four different holidays taking place throughout the end of April and into the beginning of May. To celebrate the tradition, Microsoft is highlighting hundreds of video games from developers in the region and offering them at a steep discount--including titles such as Resident Evil Village, Tales of Arise, and more.

Battle Chasers: Nightwar is a game that largely went unnoticed when it launched in 2019--but don't let its awkward name put you off. Nightwar is an impressive (and gorgeous) RPG that's inspired by the comic book of the same name from the '90s. Our review also praised its well-told story and "sharp dialogue" that pushed its narrative forward with great pacing.

Plenty of blockbusters are on sale, too, including Devil May Cry 5, Final Fantasy 15, and Dragon Quest 11. Octopath Traveler is also listed for just $30, and if you were a fan of the recently released Triangle Strategy, you're bound to find something to enjoy about the turn-based title.

Code Vein is one of the best action-RPGs featured in the sale, and it will likely appeal to fans of Elden ring. It's a Souls-like in every sense of the word, although it boasts a much flashier art style than most games in the From Software library.

More than 100 titles are currently on sale, but we've listed a few of our favorites below.
