The Xbox Series X Is Not As Big As A Refrigerator, Microsoft Confirms
The next-generation console may look like the common household appliance, but it's not nearly as big.
When the Xbox Series X was shown off for the first time in December 2019, people quickly noticed that the console looks like a refrigerator when placed in its vertical position. People created wonderful memes and mock-up images making fun of the console for looking like a fridge.
Microsoft is now taking part in the ribbing. The company released a new image of the Xbox Series X, showcasing its dimensions and comparing them against a refrigerator. At long last, we can be officially assured that the Xbox Series X is not as large as refrigerator.
While the Xbox Series X is not as big as the common household appliance, it is larger in some ways than previous Xbox consoles. The Xbox Series X comes in at 5.9 inches wide, 5.9 inches deep, and 11.8 inches tall. For comparison, the Xbox One X stands at 2.4 inches wide, 9.4 inches deep, and 11.8 inches tall. While both systems are at the same height, the Series X is thicker than the One X.

The Xbox Series X is slated to launch this holiday, despite concerns around COVID-19 and the global economy. It's been a big week for the console, as Microsoft also shared new details on the console's specs, form factor, controller, backwards compatibility, and more. Rumors of a Thanksgiving release date were briefly circled and then just as quickly stamped out, but Xbox has reiterated their commitment to a Holiday 2020 release.
