The Xbox Bodywash Is On Sale

Smell like Xbox, cheaper than ever.

One of the more surprising and unexpected Xbox products of 2019 was not a new game or piece of hardware, but rather it was Xbox body wash and deodorant spray. Now, those strange and wonderful products are on sale. The body wash and spray remains exclusive to the Australia New Zealand (ANZ) region.

If you happen to live in Australia or New Zealand, you can pick up the body spray, which comes in antiperspirant and deodorant options, as well as the body wash for $4 instead of $6. The spray and washes are available at a number of local grocery stores and pharmacies, including Woolworths.

Xbox ANZ made the body wash and spray in partnership with Lynx, which is known as Axe in the United States. What does it smell like? Here's how Microsoft sums it up:

"Lynx Xbox is a fresh scent of pulsing green citrus, featuring top notes of kaffir lime and winter lemon, aromatic herbal middle notes of mint and sage, and woody bottom notes of patchouli and clearwood. Containing a range of natural essential oils, the Xbox Lynx range comes with a sleek new look and features a body spray, deodorant, and shower gel."

What a time to be alive

Microsoft's next big non-body wash release is Gears 5, which launches on Xbox One and PC in September. The game launches on September 10, but people who buy the Ultimate edition or subscribe to Xbox Game Pass can start playing on September 6.

Looking further out, Microsoft will release a new console, Project Scarlett, in 2020 alongside Halo Infinite as a launch title.

Is Xbox back to actually producing exclusives? Or is this product a mirror image of their game distribution where it's exclusive in AZN but also available in the Americas? Sounds ridiculous right but both MS and their fans, as well as the media, continue to call multiplatform games exclusive so I wouldn't be surprised if I could go into any supermarket today and find this product.

@H0RSE: Doesn’t do them any good NOW! They can buy all the dev teams they want but when they need those high powered exclusives like Nintendo or Sony have, especially when the console launches and throughout the Xbox One’s current lifecycle. The whole reason why MS/Xbox is in this mess to begin is because they didn’t have anything at the start of the generation and they still don’t. Plus all their games are non exclusive now, since they are going to Steam/PC. There is a reason why the Switch is setting very high sales records this year, because of their amazing exclusives!

@idkhowtoplay007:

How is taking the steps to prepare them for having an exclusive games library for the start of the next-gen, Not doing them any good?

And the "Xbox doesn't have exclusives because of PC" is a short-sighted argument and even disingenuous, as it only affects those who have both a gaming PC and an xbox or just a gaming PC and seeing how the majority of console gamers don't also own a gaming PC nor do they want to even play on PC....

The "exclusive games argument" has largely been acknowledged as a console issue, even back to the days of Genesis vs SNES. Bringing a third-party such as PC into the argument as an attempt to "debunk" the claim that "xbox doesn't have exclusives," forgoing context in favor of pedantry and technicalities to prove a point, is both petty and disingenuous.

The "trend" of bringing PC into the discussion when it serves to better one's argument on console issues, while otherwise is largely disregarded, just adds to the disgenuiness, especially when you look at the history between PC and console, where arguments of which has better games, which has better graphics, m/kb vs controller, etc. were all generally summed up by the console community as "PC's aren't consoles, so it doesn't matter." Apparently however, now it matters...they are correct though - PC's aren't console, so being able to play xbox games on PC isn't a jab or detriment against xbox. It is really neither here nor there to the actual issue, which is my next point.

The context behind MS saying games are "xbox exclusives" is coming from a console perspective, since that's what Xbox is. It's talking in terms of it's competition - the medium where the majority of their current playerbase is focused around, and letting players know, that you cannot play these games on Playstation or Nintendo - that's the point.

Finally, the vast majority of PC gaming is done on WIndows PC, so why would MS be in competition with the PC gaming market? Why would bringing up that you can play xbox games on PC somehow be a knock against MS or even Xbox? All MS did by offering xbox games to PC, is broaden the exclusivity term from "xbox exclusive" to "Microsoft exclusive."

Anyone that puts any of those chemicals on their body is dumb to begin with. Get regular 100% natural soaps and shampoo, plenty of them around for maybe 1$ more, not only better for your body but less plastic pollution because those things come packed in bio-degradable paper. People still use Nivea and all of that cheap garbage????

I can't see what Microsoft hope to gain by this, Unilever doesn't have a very good name as they still use animal testing on the chemicals in their products, Use palm oil from none sustainable producers and child labour in the harvesting of the palm oil and other chemicals in their products, So people who have been watching the news about the Amazon rain forest burning probably know its companies like Unilever who are making it a profitable thing to do for the farmers in the area.
