HBO is making a new season of The White Lotus, and now we've learned who will star in it. The network has officially announced that The Sopranos star Michael Imperioli will play a role.

Deadline reports that Imperioli will play Dominic Di Grasso, "a man traveling with his elderly father and recent college-graduate son." He will be a series regular on Season 2.

Season 1 focused on a group of vacationers who travel to Hawaii to stay at a hotel called The White Lotus. A lot of drama happens in the dark comedy. Season 2 will reportedly take place at a different White Lotus resort in some other part of the world, featuring a new cast (except for Jennifer Coolidge, who is rumored to return). Like Season 1, the sophomore season is written and directed by Mike White, who previously wrote the Jack Black movies School of Rock and Orange County.

As of yet, Imperioli is the only new cast member to be confirmed for Season 2 (though, as mentioned, Coolidge is rumored to return). Season 1 featured Steve Zahn, Sydney Sweeney, Brittany O'Grady, Jake Lacy, Connie Britton, Alexandra Daddario, and Murray Bartlett.

There is no word yet on when The White Lotus Season 2 will arrive, but it'll presumably be available on HBO Max when it does. On the more immediate horizon, The Suicide Squad spinoff Peacemaker starring John Cena hits HBO Max on January 13--read our Peacemaker review here--while the next Game of Thrones show, House of the Dragon, premieres later in 2022.
