Now Playing: The 5 Biggest Stars Of E3 2019

E3 was a good week for retailer GameStop. The company announced that it saw a 63 percent uptick in pre-orders during the week of the big show covering titles that were announced or shown off more at the event.

Now, the retailer has released a list of its Top 10 Most Pre-Ordered Games coming out of E3. Although it didn't have a proper showing like in previous years, Activision's Call of Duty: Modern Warfare was the No. 1 most pre-ordered game at GameStop. Rounding out the top five at GameStop were Pokemon Sword/Shield, Final Fantasy VII Remake, Cyberpunk 2077, and Borderlands 3 in that order.

Other titles making the list included The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening for Nintendo Switch, as well as Apex Legends developer Respawn's new Star Wars game, Jedi: Fallen Order, along with Gears 5, Super Mario Maker 2, and Crash Team Racing: Nitro-Fueled.

You can see the full Top 10 list below.

2) Cyberpunk

3) Elden Ring

4) Death Stranding

5) Jedi: Fallen Order

Future: Ghostwire Tokyo, Ghost of Tsushima.

My local GameStop recently closed down, and they told me that if I want to pre-order a game I have to pick it up at a store. I'm curious on how that works generally- if you pre-order a game online will you get the game on release day, or will it be sent on release day?

OMG, 🤦‍♂️I’m surprised at this list!!! Top 5 games that should have been ranked by this order in my opinion.

1) Cyberpunk 2077

2) Jedi Fallen Order

3) Death Stranding (this was not at E3 but definitely was Pre-ordered)

4) COD Modern Warfare (2019)

5) Ghost Recon Breakpoint

Honestly, I already pre-ordered all 5 of these games. Can’t wait till the Fall!!

@wolfman152: "at Gamestop"

think a minute, the amount of gamers who do not shop there...

and the type of audience who does shop there...

LOL Avengers isn't even on the list. Time to go back to the drawing board and fix those character models Square!

" well as Apex Legends developer Respawn's new Star Wars game, Jedi: Fallen Order." I feel like Respawn should still be noted as 'Titanfall developer Respawn,' but I suppose nobody asked me and all the kids today are certainly into battle royales...sigh...

But but but ponies told me Gears was dead. Where's Death Stranding? huh? lol

Avatar image for doa2169

Damn it. I have 7 out of 10 pre-ordered.

@doa2169: that is crazy LOL

Avatar image for nintendians

i guess people still like call of duty, even it still play the same with different story.

Avatar image for elusive_mg

@nintendians: well the reason why i alway liked it cuz of cinematic least for me and good story was always there

Avatar image for nintendians

@elusive_mg: i guess so, that probably one reason why i used to still play the new ones when it comes out, but i wanted multiplayer to be enjoyable too, the last one was mw3 for me.

Call of Duty being number one on a list with these games really lends credence to the old "bread and circuses" saying.

Avatar image for That-Guy-Jeff

@lionheartssj1: I thought bread and circuses was a reference to the late era of the Roman Empire and how the state got involved to feed and entertain the masses so they wouldn’t see how shitty Rome was becoming.

@That-Guy-Jeff: Indeed, sir.

Walmart had lower prices than Best Buy on some games in Canadian Dollars (Star Wars at $50, Death Stranding $56, COD $54, CTR $29, Cyberpunk $54). I only PO'd the FF7 Deluxe Edition because it's the same price everywhere.

My Best Buy gamers club thing didnt expire til yesterday, so i did all my E3 ordering there. Gonna miss that discount.

People still pre-order at Gamestop? Its a total scam. Unless its some niche title they're not going to "run out". The only time pre-order's are acceptable these days is though Amazon even than you don't have too. But since they're no money down with release day shipping you can treat is as fire and forget. So why not? There's no need to worry about forgetting you $5 and Gamestop stealing your deposit or moving it to a game you don't wan't to inflate their numbers.

@OdinXivraj: sometimes you can get some digital bonus items exclusive to Gamestop. Tho I usually just pre-order from Amazon (digital) anyway.

Avatar image for gamingdevil800

@OdinXivraj: Only reason I preorder is due to the games coming early in the post, literally zero benefit preordering from a retail store.

Call of duty being the number 1 is utterly disgusting.

Avatar image for jericho2

@Tidus1012: disgusting is the fact that in 2019 kids try to tell everyone else what should they play or buy , if you dont like a game dont play it no one needs to have your opinion like you dont need to have the same opinion as the others . probably you are sitting over there behind a computer playing fortnite and i dont give a damm about it but it exists so whoever plays it , have fun because that is what matters
