The Tomorrow War 2 In Discussions After First Movie Is A Big Success

The Chris Pratt sci-fi film for Amazon might be getting a sequel.

The new Chris Pratt movie The Tomorrow War got off to a good start, and now there are reportedly talks about a sequel. Deadline reports that movie studio Skydance and Amazon are in discussions for another entry in the sci-fi war series.

"I understand discussions are in place to bring the whole creative gang back both in front of and behind the camera including director Chris McKay and screenwriter Zach Dean; and stars Pratt, Yvonne Strahovski, Betty Gilpin, Sam Richardson, Edwin Hodge, and Oscar winner J.K. Simmons," the site reported.

The Tomorrow War premiered on July 2 through Prime Video around the world and it was a quick success over the 4th of July holiday weekend, according to Screen Engine's numbers relayed by Deadline. The movie ranked highly with viewers, too, with more 20,000 reviewers scoring it a 4.5 out of 5 stars.

Skydance is also behind Netflix's The Old Guard, which stars Charlize Theron. The movie is also getting a sequel, and Deadline reminds us that it's rare for one studio to set up a movie franchise at two different streaming companies.

Officially, Amazon and Skydance "would not confirm" any details on The Tomorrow War 2 when approached by Deadline. In any case, Pratt released a video celebrating the early statistics for The Tomorrow War--check it out below.
