Now Playing: Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves Official Trailer

In March, directors Jonathan Goldstein and John Francis Daley talked to GameSpot about the difficulties of explaining D&D to viewers with no background in the tabletop game. "The bigger challenge was to give something to the people who have absolutely nothing to do with Dungeons & Dragons--or know nothing about it--a movie that they will also enjoy. And what I would say is, you know, we were very authentic," Daly said at the time.

Daly, who also wrote Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves with Goldstein, pointed out that all of the monsters and spells within the film "are all part of the lore." The duo have also discussed the surprise cameos in the movie.

Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves started out theatrically with a worldwide haul of $72 million opening weekend. According to BoxOfficeMojo, the film has now grossed $203.8 million globally.
