The Stellar Pac-Man CE Adds Giant Bosses in Sequel That's Coming Surprisingly Soon
Prepare for some crazy ghost train action.
After a recent ratings board leak, Bandai Namco has confirmed a sequel is on the way for Pac-Man Championship Edition, and it's coming quite soon.
Pac-Man Championship Edition 2 offers the same style of fast-paced, neon-colored Pac-Man action as its predecessor, but with a number of new mechanics. These include an ability that lets you bump ghosts around the maze and a way to create up to four ghost trains. (There are also different types of ghost trains.) The debut trailer shows how this allows you to take the already-satisfying process of chain-eating a row of ghosts to a new extreme.
Also new is the addition of boss battles, which come in the form of giant ghosts who occupy vast portions of the maze. You can get a glimpse of these as well in the video above and the gallery below.
Score Attack mode makes its return, and there's also a new Adventure mode where you'll do things like battle the aforementioned bosses and chase "fast-moving fruit."

Championship Edition 2 will be playable at San Diego Comic-Con this week and will be followed not long after by a digital release on PS4, Xbox One, and PC (through Steam). It's due out for all three platforms this September.
