The Skylanders Netflix show, Skylanders Academy, is available now to stream.

Based on Activision's video game series, the story follows the characters Spyro, Eruptor, Stealth Elf, Jet-Vac, and Pop Fizz as they go on adventures and stop bad guys. Chances are you will recognize some of the voices, as Justin Long (Dodgeball) voices Spyro, while Breaking Bad's Jonathan Banks portrays Eruptor. Funny guy Norm McDonald (Saturday Night Live) plays Glumshanks, while High School Musical's Ashley Tisdale voices Stealth Elf. Susan Sarandon and Metallica's James Hetfield also have roles.

Skylanders Academy is the first production from Activision Blizzard Studios, the company's TV and movie division that also has plans for a Call of Duty film and more. It's also the first Netflix original series inspired by a video game. Skylanders Academy's showruner is Futurama writer Eric Rogers.

There are 12 episodes in Skylanders Academy Season 1, all of which are available now. Season 2 has already been confirmed and will debut through Netflix in late 2017.

As for the Skylanders gaming series, the newest title, Skylanders Imaginators, came out earlier this month for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Wii U, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360. As the game's name suggests, one of the unique elements of the new game is that it lets you create your own unique character. Some of the characters can even be 3D-printed.

Heading up the new Activision Blizzard Studios is former Disney executive Nick van Dyk and Pulp Fiction producer Stacey Sher. They serve as the division's co-presidents.

Skylanders Academy is produced by animation studio TeamTO, which also made Ubisoft's Rabbids Invasion.

@spike6958: Yeah. Jonathan Banks and James Hetfield caught my eye.

It actually looks pretty good tbh.
