The Sims: Unleashed dominates September charts

Electronic Arts has topped both of NPD Techworld's latest lists of best-selling games with its latest expansion pack for The Sims. Currently enjoying its third straight week at the top of the weekly chart, The Sims: Unleashed is joined in the monthly top 20 by no less than four other products in the series. Electronic Arts games also dominated the latest weekly chart, accounting for six of the top 10 sellers.

Battlefield 1942 slipped a few places to number seven in the weekly chart but still sold enough copies to rank second for the month of September, just one place ahead of Warcraft III: Reign of Chaos and two places ahead of Unreal Tournament 2003.

The highest new entry on this week's sales chart was Eidos' Hitman 2: Silent Assassin, which came in at number five and will almost certainly be a contender for one of the top 10 places in next month's chart.
