Electronic Arts has announced that the PS2 version of its best-selling life-simulation game has shipped to stores across North America and Europe. The game features the same open-ended gameplay as the original PC version but also boasts a number of new gameplay features, including the level-based "get a life" mode, two-player modes, and a number of new unlockable objects, such as a strip-poker game and a monkey butler.
"Bringing the number-one-selling PC game of all time, The Sims, to the number-one console gives players a whole new Sims experience," said Sinjin Bain, COO of EA's Maxis studio and executive producer of the game. "Console players and Sims fans alike are going to enjoy the redesigned controls for the PlayStation 2 and exciting new gameplay features."
