The Resident Evil films are getting a special 4K Blu-ray steelbook box set later this year. The set covers the full six-movie run, which includes:

  • Resident Evil (2002)
  • Resident Evil: Apocalypse
  • Resident Evil: Extinction
  • Resident Evil: Afterlife
  • Resident Evil: Retribution
  • Resident Evil: The Final Chapter

The 12-disc collection features each movie in 4K with Dolby Vision HDR, plus all special features from previous releases and new featurettes on the making of Resident Evil: The Final Chapter. Each movie comes in its own unique steelbook case that slots into a box featuring the Umbrella Corp logo. The set also includes digital download codes for all six movies.

The Resident Evil Ultimate Steelbook Collection releases November 21, and you can preorder the set online for $157 at Walmart. Preorders are also available at Amazon, though the price is listed at $231, which we assume will drop to match Walmart closer to release. Either way, you won't be charged until your order ships, and you only have to pay the final price.

The Resident Evil film series was produced and written by Paul W.S. Anderson. Anderson also directed four of the six films. The saga follows an original character, Alice (Mila Jovovich), as she battles against a viral zombie apocalypse sparked by Umbrella Corps's genetic engineer. While elements from Capcom's Resident Evil video games appear throughout the movies--including locations like Raccoon City and characters like Jill Valentine, Leon Kennedy, and Ada Wong--the series is a separate universe from the video games.

Speaking of the Resident Evil games, the new paid DLC expansion Separate Ways is now available for the Resident Evil 4 remake for PC, PlayStation, and Xbox. The remake is currently on sale for a great price at Amazon for consoles. PC players can save big on the remake at GameSpot sister site Fanatical. Meanwhile, the most recent animated Resident Evil film, Death Island, is on sale for a steep discount at Amazon.
