The Matrix 4 Adds To Its Cast With Christina Ricci
Warner Bros. quietly confirms another cast member for the upcoming sequel.
The Matrix 4 has added to its cast. Collider spotted an updated press kit from Warner Bros. that included Christina Ricci's name.
Ricci joins a big cast that already includes Keanu Reeves, Carrie-Anne Moss, and Jada Pinkett Smith reprising their characters. Neil Patrick Harris, Jessica Henwick, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Priyanka Chopra Jonas, and Jonathan Groff are among the newcomers.
Ricci has worked with Matrix 4 director Lana Wachowski before in Speed Racer.
The Matrix 4, which may not be its official title, is slated for release this December in theaters and on HBO Max. It's the first new entry in the series since 2003's The Matrix Revolutions.
Very little is known about the plot of The Matrix 4. Neil Patrick Harris has discussed how the movie felt "intimate" to film despite being such a massive production.
"You'd film pages at a time in 30 minutes and then be done… You would think that a giant movie would be 100% storyboarded, animatics, and we'd be checking off shots," he said. "I think she lived that before three times over, and I would suspect that she wants to do things her own way now. It wasn't often that you felt that you were doing something gigantic because she made it feel very intimate."
