Electronic Arts has released the first details on the Game Boy Advance version of The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King. The game will feature six immediately playable characters--Aragorn, Legolas, Gimli, Frodo, Gandalf, and Eowyn--and two secret characters. Most of these characters will have unique paths that they can take through the game, as well as 15 unique skills that they can acquire as the game progresses. The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King for the GBA will also use a rune system that lets you power up individual pieces of armor and weapons using runes.

The game will support multiplayer play using the Game Boy Advance link cable. There will also be unlockable content when the game is linked up to its GameCube counterpart. The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King is scheduled for release this fall.
