The Last of Us PS4 Bundle Confirmed for Europe, But What About the US?

I'm a 360 convert that missed out on this game, and I can't wait to pick it up. I was keeping my fingers crossed when it came out for PS3 that Naughty Dog would bring it to PS4, and super pumped they did. I had slim pickings of good exclusives last gen after Mass Effect. They kept trying to shove Halo trash in my face, and Forza/Gears. Thankfully Fallout/The a Elder Scrolls were there, Deus Ex: Human Revolution and Dark Souls became multiplat after Demon's Souls.

Adding to that... the Halo Collection is the same as The Last of Us remastered in the sense that they're actually trying to entice Playstation fans over to the Xbox One too. Everyone knows Halo was the killer app for the Xbox, and even if you're a Playstation fanboy, it's a game series you can't deny being envious of (unless you're one of those diehard crazy fanboys that dislike any games that have a PS or MS sticker on it, depending on your console of preference).

It's a pretty smart on Microsoft's part too to include all four games, leading up to the fifth one coming out next year.
When it comes to sequels, a key issue for potential consumers is that they may not have played the prior game(s) in the series and so avoid buying it due to the belief they won't understand the plot. With this collection, it allows newcomers to come over and get all of the games on one disc/download, at one price to catch up.

<< LINK REMOVED >> Well, that's pretty much what was happening anyway with old games being remastered in HD and put into collections (MGS Collection, God of War Collection, Jak & Daxter Collection etc). To be honest, I don't see it as a bad thing.
If there's an old game you've never played and wondered what it's like, why not get it in one of these collections?

If however, you mean that companies will release a brand new game in the future on PS3/Xbox 360 and then later on re-release it on PS4/Xbox One, that isn't going to happen. Once new gen consoles come out, last gen consoles support slowly dies, even if the companies openly say they're still going to support it. They virtually mean they'll release games on both gens at the same time, generally with the last-gen versions being watered down and perhaps a few features missing, not vice-versa.

Keep in mind, they want to sell as many new-gen consoles as they can along with new games, so won't get into a business practice where they're shunning new-gen releases in favor of last-gen and then later on remaking them down the line so that people purchase both copies. THAT would truly be the bad business practice in this scenario.

Both The Last of Us and GTA V were released just before the new consoles came out, so it makes a lot more sense that they'd re-release them as soon as possible on the new consoles just to grab both new customers and existing fans who want to see the shinier graphics in.

That said, why would anyone be developing for last gen at this point? Moreover, if they are, I'm sure they're also developing for current gen. There isn't a trend here, it's just a transition period we're still in.

Because there are some gamers that never play Last of Us and for those who were on Xbox 360, most of them want to PS4 this gen are going to get this remastered. For me, I play it on PS3 but no longer own PS3 console so I'm buying Remastered because I miss a lot of the DLC, still need to finish getting all of my trophies, (thanks to carry-over) and it was a good game. People are also rebuying GTAV but since I play it on 360, I'm buying it for PC. Remember that we all have different taste on what we buy.

Simple, it means more money for the devs. Look at how Tomb Raider worked out. It was considered a failure but the fact that it sold well enough on the PS4 and Xbox One was an added bonus. That's the only reason they're able to go ahead with a sequel.

If this comes here this is the model I'll get. I don't like the white version and it will clash with my entertainment center. But I wish they would make game specific designs like Microsoft does.

Then again, it costs Europe more money to buy a PS4 and PSN.

Why import it when you can buy it seperate here for 80 bucks cheaper and no shipping?
