Some The Last of Us fans are convinced that HBO has already cast the character of Abby Anderson for season 2 of the show.

Following the premiere of HBO's The Last of Us last week, a post shared on The Last of Us News fan account--via Kotaku--showed that the director, co-writer, and executive producer Neil Druckmann is following the actor Shannon Berry on Instagram.

The tweet shows various photos of Berry in comparison to Abby and fans believe that given the likeness between the two, the fact that Berry is now 22--roughly the age for the character--and the fact that Druckmann follows the actor, HBO has already cast the character for season 2.

Berry's following list on Instagram also shows that she's following Druckmann in return, as well as Pedro Pascal, Bella Ramsey, and The Last of Us account. However, this doesn't necessarily mean the role of Abby has been cast as neither HBO, Druckmann, nor the series showrunner Craig Mazin has confirmed that season 2 is in the works.

Berry herself spoke on her likeness to Abby back in 2020 in a now-deleted tweet, saying, "Ok I've seen too many people now say I look like Abby from The Last of Us and wow they're kind of right."

Abby Anderson first appears in The Last of Us Part 2, and since the first season of the show is covering the entirety of the first game, it makes sense for the character to appear in a second season.
