Taito plans to use the PlayStation 2's voice-recognition technology in its new soccer game The Greatest Striker. It will be one of the first games to support the company's speech-recognition controller for the PS2. For example, the player can use it to navigate through the menu screens by saying words like "tournament" or "league." Over 40 commands have already been implemented in the game, so once players are on the grass with their team, they can control NPCs with verbal commands like pass, shoot, or tackle, to mention only a few.

The game is set to hit stores by the end of the year in Japan. No US or European release date has been announced.
