Comments

The upcoming horror sequel The Forever Purge will be with us a week earlier than scheduled. As reported by Deadline, the latest movie in the hit franchise will now hit theaters on July 2.

Universal has moved The Forever Purge forward a week following Paramount's decision to shift Top Gun: Maverick from July 2 back to November. The Forever Purge was previously due to arrive on July 9, the same day as Marvel's Black Widow.

The Forever Purge is the fifth movie in the Purge series, and stars Ana de la Reguera, Josh Lucas, Tenoch Huerta, and Will Patton. It's directed by Everardo Gout, and written by franchise creator James DeMonaco. DeMonaco has previously announced that this will be the final Purge movie, but producer Jason Blum has stated that he hopes to talk him into writing some movies. We're yet to see a Forever Purge trailer, but hopefully that will be with us soon.

Several other big movies have shifted release dates in the past week. The animated sequel Hotel Transylvania: Transformania will now arrive on July 23 instead of August 6, while Mission Impossible 7 has moved from November this year to May 27, 2022.
