The Elder Scrolls 6 Details Aren't Coming For Years Says Bethesda

Bethesda won't be revealing anything about the next Elder Scrolls for at least a couple of years.

At E3 2018, Bethesda announced that work had started on The Elder Scrolls VI, but that its release date was still years away. Two years later and that hasn't changed, with Bethesda reiterating that news on the anticipated sequel isn't coming soon.

Senior vice president of communications at Bethesda, Pete Hines, responded directly to a fan on Twitter, who asked about news pertaining to The Elder Scrolls VI. Hines reiterated that the sequel is only planned for release after the company's new RPG, Starfield, which itself hasn't been detailed yet.

Now Playing: Elder Scrolls 6 Is Still Years Away & Mafia 2 Remaster Rumours

With news on Elder Scrolls VI only coming after Starfield's release, you should prepare to wait years until the project surfaces again. And considering Bethesda is not planning to host an online event of its own to replace their cancelled E3 press conference leaves it unclear when exactly we'll even start hearing about Starfield in the near future.

The last Elder Scrolls entry, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, launched in 2011. It has since been ported to most modern consoles, including Nintendo Switch. There's even a version for Amazon Alexa. For a more modern Bethesda-developed RPG, Fallout 76 just received its biggest update since launch, which added NPCs to the multiplayer game. Sadly though, it's isn't that much of an improvement; you can read our 5/10 Fallout 76 Wastelanders review for more.
