The Division's New Update Out Now, Adds 4K Xbox One X Support

Plus new Legendary missions and Global Events.

Ubisoft has updated The Division on Xbox One today to optimize it for 4K TVs. Update 1.8.1 also introduces two new Global Events across all platforms including PC and PlayStation 4: Blackout set for the end of this month, and Onslaught set for the end of May.

Other changes in this update include an increased drop rate for Classified Gear, a legendary difficulty for Amherst's Apartment and Grand Central Station missions, and several tweaks to gear and drop rates. Global events will offer Classified Gear set caches that are specific to each set, and Legendary missions will now have a 20% chance to reward Classified gear. It also naturally provides some bug fixes.

The Division is Ubisoft's fastest-selling game, but its player base fell steadily after new content slowed. Since then, the company appears to have learned a lesson about continued support from its success with Rainbow Six Siege and a steady stream of updates brought the number of daily active users up dramatically. The Resistance update in December added a new PvE mode with factions fighting against hordes of enemies and a Skirmish mode.

Ubisoft has already announced The Division 2 with plans to unveil it at E3 this year. We don't know just yet what the sequel will bring, but we have some ideas of what we'd like to see.

It should read. The Division's New Update Out Now, Adds 4K Xbox One X Support 5 months later.

I would love this if me and my friends hadn't already played through the story more than once.

Man the One X is a graphics beast. Bet this game looks spectacular in 4K unfortunately I bought it on PS4 so when it comes to that glorious 4K imma be left out but it's still a fun game though.

The Division is still a game I enjoy booting up on my PC every now and then. The decrepit, hauntingly empty streets and back alleys of NYC are some of the most detailed and intricate environments I've explored in a game. Just beautiful, and when the snow effects kick in it's great. It's especially fun with a couple buddies just roaming the streets, taking down enemies, finding those lost snippets of cell phone conversations and events.

If only the Dark Zone were as enticing and not overrun by dicks. I'm looking forward to D2 and more story.

@matricks_: Still worth playing from time to time. Really wish the DZ hadn't been so bad. The concept was good and I've had some really tense, crazy moments in it that were fun, but getting taken out by cheaters a lot just isn't fun. They supported it well after a while so I look forward to the next one. Will most likely support it day 1.

Why didn't Ubi spend the time X Enhancing good games like Far Cry 4 or Primal, or some more Assassin's Creed titles, etc ?

Ubi, Ubi, Ubi: I mean, why go back & bother with Division now? It's not really going to boost D2 pre-orders... Fans will get it & the haters won't, no matter what you do further to the nearly retired 1st game :-\ Kuddos for WILDLANDS YEAR 2 though!

@blitxxx1981: I got the game. The Gold edition. Put 700 to 800 hours in. Two weeks after first DLC dropped. I was like **** this game and the rest of the DLC I payed for I never even bothered to jump back in. They really screwed the pooch early on with this trash game. Ashame because we waited 3 years for it. Only to realized it was all a lie. I couldn't even sale the game. But hey guess I got my money's worth right? No not really, just a ton of time wasted. If anything, I learned a huge valuable lesson. Not to get hyped about any game any more, especially if it is made by a dev I don't know and follow.

@blitxxx1981: Go back? They have never let go of Division. I am impressed by the fact that they still support this title instead of just moving on.
