The Division's 1.7 Update Out Now, Here Are The Patch Notes

Global Events, new customization options, and much more.

Ubisoft has launched the latest update for The Division, introducing a number of new features and refinements. It has also shared patch notes for update 1.7, offering a complete rundown on everything that's now available.

As announced previously, 1.7 introduces Global Events, which are limited-time events with special rewards and gameplay modifiers. The first of these is now underway and features "new enemy behavior due to the severity of a virus outbreak." Taking part will get you access to Classified gear sets, which are new, higher-end items added in this update.

Fans of customization have reason to celebrate, as the Base of Operations is now home to what we can only assume is a magical mirror. By interacting with it, you're able to customize your character's face. Additionally, face masks have been added as a new cosmetic item type; these can be obtained through Global Events. Patches are also new and can be displayed on your character's arm, though you must first unlock them by completing certain Commendations, which serve as a replacement for Feats. Commendations offer new objectives for players to complete--as well as various rewards for doing so.

Other changes of note include tweaks to Survival to make its rewards more worthwhile; blueprints, currency, and crafting materials are now shared across characters; and a hard cap on RPM for all weapons that can't be exceeded. Encrypted Caches have also been added and contain unique cosmetic items. They can be opened by purchasing a key with real-world money or through gameplay.

You can check out the full patch notes on The Division's website. The 1.7 update is out now for free on PS4, Xbox One, and PC and is the first of two major patches planned for the game's second year.

Hater gonna hate, I enjoy picking up this game now and again to blast enemies in a full squad with my friends. My only real complaint is the bullet sponge reality of said enemies. "No, seriously... I shot you twice in the face with incidiary sniper rounds. You have to be dead. Wait, what? Three ticks off your health bar? Ffffffffffffffffuuuuu..."

Lol, LOL, oh my.

If only ubish?@ kept this game closed behind doors (like rainbow six.) And in full development just maybe it would have been okay with professional beta testers. Twitch and YouTube have created free beta testers now that big AAA can save a fortune on called preorder me or ? off. Meme game.)

Have absolutely no faith in games anymore.(if we had universal basic income, I betcha all those employees who currently work at those studios would leave to create a god send of a game, but they cannot.)sadly those designer's, and programmers are following leaders who are geared towards marxism.

The gun play in this game is soooooooooooo boring. Maybe make it like Rainbow Six/Splinter Cell 1 shot kills, but turn up enemy ai.

@sdecker425: It isn't that sort of Game ! Wouldn't make sense having different levels of enemies if they were all one-shot kills !

@sdecker425: 1-shot kills are unrealistic in most cases as well. 1-shot footshot kills is stupid.

Open-faced helmets, helmetless headshots should always be a kill (because the AI would be dead or incredibly wounded, making them uselsss and require immidiate medical attention, thus counting them out).

Most games don't include that kind of dynamic which sucks horribly. It would be cool to see AI regularly drag friendlies out of the way of *further* harm. Full Metal Jacket scenario.

The only thing that could draw me back to this game would be if they drastically reduced NPC health, bullet sponge enemies are boring.
