Now Playing: Tom Clancy's The Division - Video Review

Ubisoft's The Division has taken the top spot on the UK sales chart for the week ending March 12. According to sales monitor Chart-Track, the open-world shooter had the biggest launch for the first three months of any year, surpassing previous record holder, Gran Turismo 4.

"The Division breaks an 11 year record held by Gran Turismo 4 [released in 2005], outselling any other title released in the first three months of the year," explained Chart-Track.

"It is also Ubisoft's biggest ever launch of a Tom Clancy title, sitting behind Watch Dogs and Assassin’s Creed III as their third largest launch of all time."

The publisher also occupied a further two spots on the top ten with Far Cry Primal at No.2 and Rainbow Six: Siege at No.10. The full top ten can be found below.

This table does not include digital sales data, and thus should not be considered representative of all UK game sales.

  1. Tom Clancy's The Division
  2. Far Cry Primal
  3. Call of Duty: Black Ops 3
  4. FIFA 16
  5. Plants Vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare 2
  6. Lego Marvel Avengers
  7. Grand Theft Auto V
  8. Forza Motorsport 6
  9. The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess HD
  10. Rainbow Six: Siege

This is a depressing Top 10.

I would hope a game like The Division set in London would be as popular in the U.S. I would buy it.

@wookiegr: We already have that, it's called: London has Fallen.

@wookiegr: That sounds cool. Maybe even Paris or Berlin as well.

So... will GTA V ever drop off the top 10 in the UK?

Anyways the Division did deliver, really great game.. the DZ is dangerous in every way. The Division is more like Modern Fallout, where you get to wondering trying to help the city to get on it feet.

No surprises !! They said it was going to be one of if not their biggest new IP launch and they were right !! Its a Great Game .. as is Siege !! Credit where its due !!

ever since ubisoft sold their soul and fired Patrice Désilets and suspended his new game after buying it's rights their products went downhill so fast and plagued with bugs and broken launches and season pass bullshit that is cut from the actual game, and stupid drm and microtransactions and that god awful uplay
and their biggest franchise (and once my favourite too) was ruined ... i hope they comeback to their senses before it's too late and they join the blacklist of publishers that i never buy from (unless it's practically free on steam)

Is it any good? The reviews seems positive but mixed, I really hated Destiny, so I'm not sure that this is going to be for me. But I need something new to play, getting bored of Rise of the Tomb Raider and Halo 5 now.

@graffitiheart: It is nothing like Destiny the only comparison can be the fact the loot system comes in different grades, which to me started with diablo not destiny, if you like third person cover shooters ala gears of war im sure you will enjoy it. you can play single or multi, and there is plenty to do in the world its set in.

@graffitiheart: "Is it any good?"

It's a decent Destiny clone if you can tolerate the linear and repetitive MMO-like quest design, the uninteresting story and generic art direction, the horrible clash of having bullet-spongey enemies in a realistic world, the overall lack of any fun things to do after the first few hours, and being punished for exploring and thinking outside the box.

In other words, no.

I hated Destiny but am enjoying this. The main campaign is good and is enough to justify cost imo.

Actually did couple of main missions with random on line person and made it far far more enjoyable too and I don't normally bother with online.

@skipstream1969: interesting might give it go, may wait for the price to lower a little.

I guess mediocrity sells...

@aiat_gamer: Ubi won't lose any sleep regarding your comment, so does people who brought this game.

@aiat_gamer: Well seeing as the masses love their scores .. Its scoring really well so not so mediocre afterall !! I thought the hipster year of the hate was last year (2015) anyway ... Beards were 2014 .. isn't there something new this year ?

I'm not surprise The Division wins the charts, this was basically the only game that's worth a buy if you're a fan of Destiny, then you feel right at home. Glad I'm not buying it anytime soon, The Division is expensive as it is.

Also: Congratulations to the top 10 winner :P
