The Division Servers Back Online With Big Changes

Bye, bye, Loot Cave.

58 Comments

Following a roughly three-hour period of downtime for maintenance this morning, The Division's servers should now be back online across Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC.

The game returns to operation with some major changes through update 1.02. As explained yesterday, the patch fixes a number of bugs (bye, bye, Loot Cave) and tweaks numerous aspects of the game. You can see the full 1.02 patch notes here in our previous coverage.

Ubisoft even cracked a joke about The Division's Destiny-esque Loot Cave, which allowed players to farm high-level gear until it was patched out today. The developer shared this silly image on Twitter of the worldboss in question, Bullet King.

In other news about The Division, the game brought in $330 million in revenue over its first five days, eclipsing Destiny's mark over the same period of time. Additionally, one player hasreached the Dark Zone's level cap of 99 after playing for 130 hours.

It's just interesting that when i go into the DZ playing solo, i have to call it the "Dead Zone". I mean, for whatever reason, the place is barren with hardly any players in there.

However, when i go on with friends, it's LOADED with people. I don't know if they do that purposely, but on the Beta solo or not, the DZ was always filled with people.

@jagdedge124: It's matchmaking. You go in as a group, you'll get matched mostly with groups. Go in Solo, you find mostly solo players.

@TwinStripeUK:

Oh is that right? It makes sense, because that's what i'm seeing. I mean, going in alone, there's hardly anything there, and i've been all over it.

In fact, the only way for me to see action, is wait for a guy to call in an extraction, and help him out, in order to get loot from the AI, being i can't kill then alone. Though with friends, total opposite, so i guess you're right.

@jagdedge124: I suggest you start inviting people to join your group in the DZ, you'll actually get to enjoy it that way. A team of 3 is good for a decent run through the DZ, can fill your stash pretty quick, takes about 10-15 hours to rank up to 30 if you're careful not to go rogue and don't die very often.

@suicidesn0wman:

You're right. it is better that way, because when you go it alone, there's nobody (or hardly) in the DZ.

@jagdedge124: I think it depends where you enter, I always find tons of people in the first 2 zones, and absolutely no one in the last couple.

@jagdedge124: I've had a mixture of both. Lately I've had no trouble finding shifty rogue agents though.
