Square Enix has unveiled the specific new features and updates coming to The DioField Chronicle for free, which it previously teased in November 2022. The new content will be coming in March.

The free update will include a new story scenario from the perspective of Waltaquin Redditch, one of the leaders of the Blue Foxes. Additionally, there will be a new weapon type called the Magic Tome and a new Very Hard difficulty. A New Game Plus capability will be added as well, along with the ability to choose Extra Mode, in which high-level enemies will appear starting from Chapter 1.

While Square Enix didn't provide an exact date for this update, it should be coming right around the corner next month. The game was released on September 22, 2022, for PC, PS4, PS5, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S.

In GameSpot's The DioField Chronicle review, we said, "The Diofield Chronicle probably wants to explore ideas around how power is accumulated and how legitimacy is granted with its tales of warring lords and divine rights. But it never truly engages with them."
