The Boys Season 2 Release Date Finally Revealed
The second season of the Amazon Prime's acclaimed comic book adaptation arrives in September.
The Boys Season 1 was one of the best reviewed comic book adaptations of 2019, and expectations are high for the second season. Season 2 was first teased way back in December last year, but we finally know when it will arrive.
The release date was revealed during an online cast reunion titled "The Boys F***in' Reunited." The Boys Season 2 will hit Amazon Prime Video on September 4, 2020. However, while Season 1 was released in its entirety in July last year., Season 2 will have a different release pattern. The first 3 episodes will arrive on September 4, with the remaining five releasing one a week for the next five weeks.
The Boys is based on the comic book by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson, and stars Karl Urban, Jack Quaid, Antony Starr, Erin Moriarty, Dominique McElligott. It focuses on a group of people without powers looking to take down a group of superhumans known as The Seven, who may save lives but abuse their powers in various ways.
The online event also teased a new villain named Stormfront, who will replace Translucent in the Seven. Stormfront will be played by You're The Worst star Aya Cash, who described the character as a "a nuclear bomb that goes off in The Seven."
