TGS 06: Heavenly Sword Update

Sony teases us with little new info on its upcoming action title for the PlayStation 3.

TOKYO--Heavenly Sword made an eye-catching debut at the Electronic Entertainment Expo last year when Sony debuted a flashy trailer for the martial-arts-themed action game. At this year's show, Sony followed suit with a promising playable demo that pitted its deadly heroine against an arena of evildoers in need of some murdering. Given the game's progressive showings, we had high expectations for it at TGS this year and were consequently let down by what was on hand. Our rush to the playable kiosk for the title was rewarded with what appeared to be the same E3 demo.

Although this demo had yet to be shown in Japan, especially to consumers, we were obviously hoping to see more on the game. Considering the promise it has shown in the past, we've been anxious to see more of what it has to offer, especially the free-form combat elements outside the confines of the arena in the demo. With Sony planning more PlayStation 3 events in the months leading to launch, we'll keep our fingers crossed in the hopes that we'll see more on the game soon. Look for more on Heavenly Sword as it becomes available.
