Tetris has hit just about every system since its release on the Nintendo Game Boy in 1989. Now it's coming to the Dreamcast on December 23 in Japan for 4,800 yen (about US$39). These screens are of Tetris 4D, the latest version of the game.

There are two modes in the game - classic and battle. Classic is, of course, the classic puzzle game that many of us know very well. Each of the blocks is now in 3D, made up of polygons, as is the "pit" the pieces fall into. Additionally, battle mode can be played by up to four players. There's also some kind of "guideline" system in the game now, presumably to tell you exactly where your piece will land before it's actually dropped all the way down. There are five levels of difficulty - beginner, easy, normal, hard, and expert.

Tetris 4D is currently 80 percent complete. Screenshots are courtesy of Softbank's Dreamcast Magazine.
