Infogrames North America announced today that the PlayStation version of Test Drive Le Mans is headed to retail outlets at the end of this week. Gamers can race through famous tracks such as Maison Blanche, Bugatti, and Mulsanne at up to 200mph. Three racing modes - arcade, championship and Le Mans 24 hours - will be available. Racing fans can participate in an actual 24-hour race, or they can simulate the 24-hour race by choosing time-compressed 12 minute, 24 minute, or one-hour modes. Sending vehicles into the pit is an essential gameplay decision, since tires, gas, and oil levels will all inevitably degrade over time.

"Test Drive Le Mans is a game of endurance and skill," said Laddie Ervin, director of marketing for sports and racing at Infogrames North America. "It's not just a racing game; Test Drive Le Mans seamlessly blends strategy and pure adrenaline-pumping action."

More than twenty licensed racing teams are selectable across the GT1, GT2 and Prototype classes, including BMW Motorsport, Panoz Hybrid, and Chamberlain Engineering. Two-player split-screen action is available, and the title supports the Dual Shock Analog controllers. The game will retail for $29.99 US.
