Despite all the criticism on Telltale games and their simple minded game play mechanics, I have quite enjoyed their recent games and always enjoy their creative approach to melding their own stories with classic franchises, TWD: A New Frontier clearly takes major inspirations from some of the events from the TV show but with some pretty artistic loops and variations of their own. Always manage to squeeze a well told story. If only they could add more depth to the overall gameplay and not make fans wait months on end for the events to fully play out.... I hate the episodic releases and find it hard to continue when you got other fully completed gems to play such as Horizon: Zero Dawn or Persona 5!!

I bet they threw the walking dead release schedule under the bus due to guardians of the galaxy, episode 4 of TWD in May then damn. I thought they had finally started releasing everything monthly but with the walking dead they went back to their old ways...

TellTale's episodic format is a smokescreen for a lack of content. I bought a couple TellTale games in the past, and the total amount of content you get from their games does not justify the price.

@DeviantCode: How is $25 too much for 10ish hours of content? That comes out to about $2.50 an hour. What the hell else are you gonna get for that cheap?

@aross2004: Even if I accept that you can get 10 hours out of the game, which, honestly, is pushing it... I just lost a Diablo III Hardcore character the other day that had 62 hours of time on it. I usually get AT LEAST 60 - 100 hours of time out of a game I'm satisfied with.

So $2.50 an hour is crap value. They're $10 bargain-bin games, at best.

@DeviantCode: $2.50 for an hour's worth of entertainment is not crap value, period.

Whether you see value in these types of games is totally subjective of course, but anyone who says $2.50 is too much to pay for an hour of entertainment is just being contrary for the sake of it.

@aross2004: I guess you don't have to care about the value of money when mommy pays for everything.

@DeviantCode: LOL, typical ridiculous response.

I'm 45 and make awesome bank in IT. No sense in continuing a conversation with someone who doesn't understand what a civil discussion looks like.

Good luck with that.

Even though I am not a huge Guardians of the Galaxy fan I am somewhat excited for this as I am a supporter of Telltale and what they have already achieved with some of their previous games.

Still, I don’t “jive” with this episodic release format.

Hopefully it won’t take forever for the whole game/season to come out unlike TWD3 as I am still patiently waiting for that whole season to drop before starting it.

@videogameninja: Nah man it's going to suck just like their batman series did.

Telltale is not the same since their popularity surged after the walking dead.
