Telltale's Batman PC Patch Released to Fix Crashes, Frame Rate Problems
First patch for Telltale's Batman series also introduces graphics options.
In a post on the Telltale Games website, the studio said these issues were being caused by integrated graphics cards.
"Investigations indicate that many of these issues appear to have been due to running the game on integrated graphics cards rather than dedicated," it explained. "Or [they] were the result of out of date drivers. Special thanks to those in the community who have already helped others resolve these issues before a patch could go live."
The patch notes can be found below:
- Automatically defaults the game to run on dedicated graphics card
- Adds graphics settings to enable selection of Higher Performance Textures or Higher Quality Textures (please select Higher Performance if performance is an issue)
Telltale has advised players to update their drivers before running the game.
Reports of the problem flooded the game's Steam page, where players also discussed workarounds and their own fixes. These include disabling display scaling to resolve blurry, low-resolution graphics and downloading a certain file to avoid a DirectX error on Windows 7.
In GameSpot's Batman: The Telltale Series Episode One review, the season premiere earned a score of 8/10.
"While many fixate on breaking the Batman, Telltale wants to bring down Bruce Wayne, and it demonstrates an understanding that people and relationships are the key to this," I said. "Episode one begins the process of unravelling him, and sets the stage to lay him bare. Impressively, by sticking to its strengths, Telltale also delivers on the experience of being Batman. Realm of Shadows establishes a compelling Bruce Wayne narrative and is an exciting start to the series."
